Edgewater sits right along Lake Erie next to Edgewater Park, and that lakefront setting shapes what we see here. The neighborhood mixes century-old Colonial Revival single-family homes and converted lakeside mansions in the north with a large share of multi-unit apartment buildings further south; roughly 40% of Edgewater residents rent, which means shared walls, shared basements, and pest issues that don’t always stay contained to one unit. Add in the moisture and mature tree cover near Edgewater Park’s shoreline, and it’s a neighborhood with genuinely varied pest pressure depending on which block you’re on.

Common pest pressures in Edgewater

Mice and rats, especially in century-old homes with aging foundations, and in multi-unit buildings where activity can spread between units
Ants, including carpenter ants drawn to moisture-damaged wood common in older lakeside construction
Cockroaches, a frequent issue in denser rental and multi-family buildings
Spiders and overwintering pests, common near the tree cover and green space bordering Edgewater Park
Bed bugs, which spread more easily in higher-turnover rental buildings

Why Edgewater residents and landlords choose us

Edgewater’s mix of century-old lakeside homes and multi-unit rentals means one generic treatment doesn’t fit every property. We inspect and treat based on what your specific building actually needs, whether that’s proofing entry points in an older single-family home or managing a recurring rental-building issue for a landlord juggling multiple units.

Local expertise

Owner Shawn Payne brings two decades of pest management and horticulture experience, including time with the Davey Resource Group and the City of Cleveland’s Rockefeller Park Greenhouse. This provides hands-on familiarity with exactly the kind of older Cleveland lakefront housing found throughout Edgewater.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From the moment I spoke to Simone on the phone, I knew I was in good hands. She listened intently to the issue I was calling about, told me she would discuss a resolution shortly with her boss and get back to me. She contacted me shortly after with a potential solution and a few days later, Shawn showed up at my home ready to work. He went above and beyond for me and could not have been kinder. I highly recommend you call Lakewood Exterminating for your exterminating needs. Efficient, kind, fair pricing and peace of mind at its finest. Thank you!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you call this place, a human being answers the phone. They came out a few hours after we called. It’s been about 2 hours and the yellowjackets are mostly dead. Thanks everyone for letting us use our door again!
